Members of the 6+ Collective have been invited to participate in the December
18 Day of Actions, an event organized by artist Tania Bruguera and Immigrant
Movement International: http://immigrant-movement.us/december18/. Over 170
artists, artist collectives, immigrants and activists from around the globe are
performing actions to mark what has been designated International Migrants
Day by the United Nations. The Migrant’s Manifesto was created by a group
of scholars and activists that aims to highlight the ongoing condition of human
migration and its role in the contemporary experience. The manifesto calls for
a re-imagining of immigrant rights : http://immigrant-movement.us/migrant-

01/19/09 : 6+ launches "Daughters of Palestine"

For the past 4 years, the 6+ collective has been working with the Al Feneiq Cultural Center in Dheisheh Refugee Camp in the Occupied Territories of Palestine. The "Daughters of Palestine" web project linked here documents the powerful narratives of 16 young girls from the Dheisheh Camp, recorded in December 2007. One of the horrors of the occupation of Palestine and the War on Gaza is the blatant disregard for the lives of children. We can accept no justification for the atrocities the State of Israel is committing in Gaza, nor for the ongoing incarceration of an entire people. We add our voices to the many others around the world, including inside Israel, calling for the liberation of Palestine. Please take the time to listen to the stories of these young girls, who use their voices as testimony to the hardships of living under the occupation.

"May God help us and others against the injustice and the brutality of the occupation. What they have done to us is nothing compared to what they do in the Gaza strip."
